Green haired gunrunner Captain Cressen Stone thought she’d left her former life as Imperial Princess Hailimi Bristol far behind her–20 years behind her. When one of her crew tries to kill her, and two Imperial Trackers show up, she knows her past is coming back to bite her.

The Trackers tell her that her sisters are dead, and her mother is dying–her home planet, Indrana, needs her. There’s none left in direct succession to become Empress.

As loathe as she is to become Empress, she’s determined to discover who has killed her family and make them pay.

Part rollicking space opera, part court intrigue, part futuristic sci-fi; this is the start of a damn good series. Rich world building, great characters, and an enthralling story make for a page turner that you’ll spend hours on to find out what happens next.

Hail is a fun character–I hope we don’t have long to wait for the third book. Book two is out tomorrow, and I’ll have a review up for it soon. I read through this one pretty quickly, as it was one I thoroughly enjoyed. Since book two is about to come out, it should make a good addition to your holiday book buy list.
