Tensions are escalating between the fae and humans when coyote shapeshifter Mercy Thompson and her alpha werewolf mate, Adam, are called upon to stop a rampaging troll on a local bridge. Other pack members show up to help, along with some old fae friends who bring with them the one person who may be able to prevent an out and out war: a human child stolen centuries ago by the fae.
As long as Mercy and the pack can keep him safe and figure out how to bring the fae to the bargaining table, they may just save the Tri-Cities from the wrath of the fae.
This latest book in the Mercy Thompson series is an action filled, fast paced installment that brings back a few favorite characters we’d all like to see more of: Zee, Tad, and the enigmatic walking stick. It’s a quick read because you’re likely to read it all in one sitting, not wanting to miss out. Great installation to the series, and does a good job of adding to the overall narrative while keeping everything fresh.
