Interested in the upcoming Quantum Break? I dug through the internet to try to compile a fair amount of information for it, so without further introduction, let’s get this ball rolling.
First, Quantum Break comes out April 5th for the Xbox One and PC. If you preorder the Xbox One version, through either the Xbox store or at participating retailers, you’ll get a download code for the Windows 10 version of Quantum Break. You’ll also get Alan Wake’s American Nightmare for preordering it, which is backwards compatible on the Xbox One. Every copy of Quantum Break also includes Alan Wake, which is also backwards compatible on the Xbox One, as well as its two pieces of DLC, The Signal and The Writer.
There’s also a special edition white Xbox One 500GB console that comes with a matching controller, Quantum Break for the Xbox One, a Windows 10 version of the game, and Alan Wake and the above mentioned DLC for it. If I didn’t already have one, I’d probably be jumping on that, as there’s deals to be found for it and it looks pretty as hell. Although I wonder how easy it will be to tell if the power button is on or off during the daylight?
Quantum Break appears to be a hefty download as well, weighing at 44.09GB. Not terribly uncommon with this generation of console, but it’s still something to keep in mind if you have other sizable games on your Xbox One hard drive. Might time to invest in an external drive. While it hasn’t been shown, odds are the Windows 10 version is around the same size.

Planning on getting Quantum Break on Windows 10? Let me give you a little info on that. There won’t be a Steam version of the game, so you’ll have to purchase it through the Windows store. Also, here’s the most recent recommended specs for you machine to be able to run it.
Digital Foundry did a rather lengthy analysis of it, so if you’re interested in it, you can check it out here. Basically, it looks like the game is running at 720p but it still looks incredibly impressive. Nice to have something to really push what the Xbox One is capable of graphically.
If you haven’t heard, there’s also a TV show that’s connected to the game. While they are skippable and won’t affect your understanding of the overall story, they’re supposed to add more to it. Think of them as listening to codec sequences in a Metal Gear game. You can play the game without having heard the vast majority of them, but you’ll miss on a lot of nuanced things in the game. They look well done and decisions made in the game will affect them. Rather than me tell you more about it, check out the trailer below.

The more I see it, the more excited I am to play Quantum Break. The gameplay reminds me a fair bit of Gemini: Heroes Reborn. What I loved about Gemini seems to be the focal point of Quantum Break. Between this and the TV show mixed into it, this seems like a fascinating little experiment that doesn’t just look great but seems like it will be fun as hell.
