So, they finally let Roman out of the box. How long until he remembers more than he should?
That seemed to be on everyone’s mind almost every time they all looked at him, like he was a bomb about to go off.
No one really thought it was a good idea to take him into the field, but they didn’t really have much choice.
Following up on the mancala puzzle tattoo, they tracked down Kat, the biker chick, to find out what her ties were to Sandstorm. Turns out, she was Roman’s girlfriend, and boy was she pissed.
Before the whole Jane-in-a-bag thing, Remy had told Roman he needed to break it off with Kat, and he had to pretty much drop her with no warning. So when Jane and Roman show up at Kat’s bar, Roman got met with a whollop to the face.
New psych doc still kept insisting that Roman didn’t have the capacity to love anyone (not even Jane), but Roman’s memories seemed to contradict that. Jane was getting more and more irritated the more it was insisted, as well.
The group makes a deal with the leader of Kat’s biker gang buddies to set up a sale of explosives to Shepard so the FBI can nab her, but they needed a believable way to get their hands on explosives, and the biker gang insisted on coming along.
Weller and Reade drive a truck filled with the explosives, disguising themselves as truckers who didn’t know what they were carrying. The biker gang was to hijack the truck and leave the drivers by the side of the road. The biker gang insists on getting rid of the ‘witnesses’, so a quick thinking Roman plugs Weller and Reade right in the bulletproof vests he knows they’re wearing and rushes the gang away.
Of course, this makes everyone a little more nervous, but at least Weller acts like he understood.
The biker gang leader sets up the sale with Shepard, but Shepard is smart enough to always insist on not giving a location until an hour before any meet.
Roman is pretty conflicted throughout the episode as he remembers more and more about Kat, like promises he made to her to run away together, leaving Remy in the dust. Promises that never came to fruition. He’s beginning to wonder if there’s something wrong with him, since he’s not feeling anything for Kat right now.
When they meet at Kat’s bar to get the location of the deal, Kat’s pretty much figured out something was fishy. Roman ends up partially confessing the truth of the matter to her, but a shootout with the rest of the biker gang leaves her shot and dying in Roman’s arms. They got the address, though.
When everyone gets to the address of the meet, they discover Shepard’s already been and gone, killing the leader of the biker gang and taking the explosives (which were thankfully mostly fake).
This makes Nas think that maybe her and Weller are too much of a distraction, and after finding out last episode that babymomma was moving to Colorado, Weller gets his fuzzy little heart sat on again when Nas breaks it off with him. He’s kind of depressed and admits as much to Jane, who shows up late in the evening with some of his favorite beer so he’s not alone.
We also find out that Shepard was never at the meet. Awful Nigel/Borden has set up a subordinate to pick up the explosives and kill the biker. He’s proving himself to be a really awful creeper.
