Well. A lot happened in this episode, and it was the winter finale (meaning we have a bit of a break before it starts up again after the first of the year).
I know that ‘recap’ generally implies spoilers, but I’m leaving a little bit of spoiler space anyway, so the post preview doesn’t show anything for anyone that doesn’t want a spoiler.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME, GUYS!?
Does Patterson seriously not get to be happy? We all adored Borderson.
Ugh.
Well. So, at the beginning of the episode, we pick back up with Jane being taken to Sandstorm HQ by her possibly traitorous brother. After all, the mole told him she was a double agent.
She gets clues where the building is, and conveniently gets to see a map and plans that makes it look like Phase 2 involves blowing up or overloading the US power grid. They also told Jane that Phase 2 was happening in 12 hours. She gets all this info to our FBI team.
Borderson is being adorable at the beginning of the episode, with Borden cooking Patterson breakfast and bringing it to her in bed. When they get into HQ, Patterson has to cryptically tell Borden that nothing is wrong and she can’t talk about it when everyone rushes around to prepare to take Sandstorm HQ.
Roman gives Jane a drugged piece of bubblegum. She wakes up tied to a chair, and Shepard tells her that they know she’s a traitor. Thanks, Roman.
She also tells Jane that not only are the ‘plans’ they left for her to find false, but that she’s had a mole in the FBI all along, and it was Borden. I figured it had to be someone close enough to Patterson to snag info from her.
We get some of the background on Borden–apparently, his wife was the doctor who took care of Jane after Orion. He’s with Sandstorm because when Orion was scrubbed, they killed his wife trying to eliminate Jane.
Before the team leaves, Weller gets a call that his babymomma was in a bad car accident, and the baby may be in distress. Uh huh, that’s not at all suspicious. Weller goes to the hospital, effectively sidelining him from the takedown.
When the team gets to the site, their comms mysteriously go down. Once everyone is in the building, they start to come back, and Nas figures out its a trap… little too late. A lot of people are still in the building when it explodes.
That whole time, Shepard makes Jane watch. The preamble to Phase 2 was to take out the FBI team. She then tells the two that Roman will be the one to kill Jane, and his reaction is ‘wait…what?’. Finally, that’s one bridge too far. Epic fight as Jane smashes the chair she’s tied to, and her and Roman escape, but not before Roman shoots Shepard (but not fatally) and Shepard gets a shot in at Roman (also not fatal, but still rather dire).
Weller figures out pretty quickly what happened when he gets to the hospital and no one knows what the hell he’s talking about. He speeds to the Sandstorm site, but of course is too late.
Reade and Nas are stuck in the rubble, Zapata is relatively ok. Our team, at least, is extricated from the rubble, but things are looking pretty bad for Reade. At the hospital, Reade regains conciousness and tearfully admits to Zapata that while he didn’t kill the pedo coach, he did watch him die. Yikes.
Patterson figures out that Borden is the mole. She’s understandably pissed. She tries to arrest Borden, and ends up shooting at him as they run around the house.
Jane wants to take Roman to the hospital, but Roman wants to go to the safe house instead. She takes him there, and decides that since losing her memory seemed to make her not psycho anymore, maybe it’ll do the same for Roman. She shoots Roman up with a generous helping of memory erasing drugs.
Patterson finally has Borden cornered, and they struggle for the gun. The gun goes off, and we are left wondering which one of them was shot until the show comes back from winter hiatus.
Damn.
