Unless you’ve been living in an alternate universe, or just didn’t see the last Avengers movie, you know that Black Panther is the next Marvel superhero getting their own movie. And Marvel decided to grace us with the trailer for Black Panther tonight. Black Panther, also known as T’Challa is played by Chadwick Boseman, and his movie begins just after the end of events in Captain America: Civil War.
The trailer opens with Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) being schooled by a captured Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis) about how little the world knows about the mysterious country. The trailer then sets up some of Black Panther’s larger plot elements like the fact that the world, as a whole is changing as more of Wakanda’s riches are exposed. Within Wakanda itself, T’Challa is seemingly faced with Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) staging an insurrection against the royal family, while protecting the Queen Mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett) from those who would do her harm. Also, multiple squads of Dora Milaje, the Wakandan equivalent of Special Forces, are heavily featured.
Black Panther has a release date of 16 February 2018, is directed by Ryan Coogler, who also wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole.
Robin is a semi-coherent, almost sentient being. She has some strange ideas, and some even stranger friends. Disabled, queer, agnostic, accident-prone & other adjectives.
She loves music, and talks about new releases from bands frequently. She also enjoys going to shows to recap them, and listening to albums by bands that "mainstream" music isn't interested in, because they're often the best music out there.
