One of my favorite PSP games, Corpse Party, is coming out on PC through Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store on April 25th for $14.99. The PC release will have the original five chapters plus four additional bonus chapters, some additional scenes, and multiple endings. You can also fast-forward through parts of the game so you can access the additional endings more quickly. This is also the more extreme version of the game as you there are some grisly fates that are met that weren’t in the version we saw on the PSP. If the PSP version was tough to swallow, well, consider yourself warned. This basically equates out to the definitive Corpse Party experience.

The version I’m more excited about (I don’t really play PC games) is the 3DS version which will release this summer. You can buy it on the eShop for $29.99 if you want to go digital with it. If you want a physical copy of it, you’re limited to one choice, but it’s definitely a pretty cool one. The Back to School Edition, which is the physical release, comes with an CD soundtrack and figurines of Naomi Nakashima and Seiko Shinohara. The figures are pretty adorable, but knowing what I know about the game…well, let’s just say that might be the only time you ever see these characters smile.

They’ll soon have nothing to be smiling about.

The 3DS version is effectively an enhanced version of the PSP release with some additional scenes that will give a little more insight into some of the characters that didn’t previously get as much screen time. The character sprites have been redrawn in high resolution, there will be 3D art stills, and arranged music tracks. Basically, think of this as an improved edition of the version we got on PSP.You can check out the trailers below, courtesy of Gematsu.
