Lucifer Recap: Candy Morningstar
Finally, he’s back!
Chloe has spent two weeks at first forlorn, then increasingly annoyed. After their big moment–Lucifer ran away. He couldn’t handle the thought that dear old Dad had put Chloe in his way, and he’s making the mistake of thinking that Chloe didn’t have a choice in it.
Another case falls in Chloe’s lap, and a familiar face shows up–Lucifer. Except this time he’s brought a woman with him who he introduces as his wife?
She’s a dancer he met in Vegas, and its obvious she’s Lucifer’s human shield.
And boy is Chloe pissed.
She spends much of the time insisting that she’s done with Lucifer and doesn’t need him–and he spends a lot of the time rying to make himself indispensable.
Maze tries to tell Chloe that he goes through these phases and he’ll be back to normal soon enough, but she’s had it with him.
As they progress through their investigation, they talk to a mediator who’s a suspect for the murder, undercover as a couple. Lucifer complains that Chloe has been trying to push him away, while Chloe talks about how hurt she is. Is any of it sinking in? That’s anyone’s guess.
Meanwhile, Amanadiel is angry that he’s been spending all this time while Lucifer was gone protecting Chloe only to have him come home married to someone else. This is partially where Lucifer lets on what his actual plan is–he doesn’t want Chloe to get any closer to him because of what he thinks Father did. If she doesn’t have a choice, he wants to make sure he can give her one by pushing her away a bit. So yes, Candy is a human shield of sorts.
Mother had been worried she’d broken Lucifer’s spirit. For once, she’d rather he was with Chloe than not. She talks with Lucifer and lets him know that they could return home to the silver city because they possess the one weapon that could stop God–the flaming sword. Azrael’s knife is the flaming sword.
That knife is bad news.
Chloe reluctantly accepts Lucifer back in her life, and later we see Lucifer seeing Candy off–only to find out she was acting. It was a favor to Lucifer, and they’re not really married.
