Read Dead Redemption
Read Dead Redemption, the highly acclaimed action packed western saga from RockStar Games has thrilled players since its release in 2010. 8 years seems like a long time to wait for a sequel, and in fact Read Dead Redemption 2 was originally set to be released late 2017, but RockStar is renowned for only releasing games that it is satisfied are of the best possible quality, so the release date was pushed until early next year for Xbox One and PS4.
The game is RockStars first game ever designed from the ground up, specifically for the latest innovations in console hardware.
Players can be assured that unlike other game producers, they will be getting the full package from Read Dead Redemption 2, without the necessity of buying add-ons to the game down the road.
RockStar Games has been teasing fans with tit bits on the newest version of the Read Dead series since October 2016, when it first released teaser pictures on various social media sites.
Already the game has been nominated for the award “Most Anticipated Game” in the 2017 Game Awards and it looks set to be as thrilling as playing at a CAD casino!
Read Dead Redemption 2
Read Dead Redemption 1 follows the story of the main character from the game, John Marston, who as the story goes, was originally an outlaw, forced into being a hired gun by the government after they held his wife and son hostage.
The game is an action adventure game set in the Old West, in an open world environment. It has single player as well as and online multiplayer components, and is played from a third person perspective.
Very little is known about Read Dead Redemption 2 as RockStar Games have remained tight-lipped about what players can expect presumably to keep the anticipation growing. If it is anything like the original, players can travel the landscape of a fictional version of the United States Old West and Mexico – either by horseback or foot. There will undoubtedly be gunfights galore!
Of the few titbits offered up by RockStar, here is what we know about Read Dead Redemption 2 so far for sure.
Judging by the trailer released by RockStar, Read Dead 2 could have up to seven different playable characters and the original hero, John Marston is rumoured to be among them. Having so many varying characters with different skills and strengths promises to be an exciting addition to the game.
The trailer was relatively vague, but judging by what was shown, shooting bandits, exploring deserts and horse-riding can definitely be expected for players when the game is released.
The Read Dead Redemption Map
What seemed to be a leak on what the map for Read Dead 2 is to be was posted on NeoGAF, before very swiftly being taken down. Not swiftly enough before it was screenshotted and posted all over the internet, as the popularity of this profitable game is immense.
The map features multiple caravan sites, islands located among rivers, and great expanses of rolling hills. There are also large areas of water, presumably a similar obstacle to the ravines John Marsden had to cross to find new locations on the map in the previous version of the game.
Despite how eagerly anticipated the game is, this is all the information currently available on what players can expect! Guaranteed to keep us glued to the edge of our seats until the release date next year.
