Soho Music Festival 2018
Think Carnaby Street, you think the swinging 60s and rock and roll. But, how does a hip hop battle sound? You can wear your go-go boots if you like.
June 1st kicks off Soho Music Month, and that means free outdoor gigs, a vinyl market, DJs of the radio and rave variety, plus walking tours, restaurant deals and weather permitting, dancing in the streets.
Each Thursday evening in June, Ganton Street, just off of Carnaby, will host a series of free music events, and that’s where you’ll find that hip hop battle, hosted by all-female DJ collective Rock The Belles, as well as @London Stageside with Alex Tracey, five winners of the NME, Tunecore and Platform LDN’s search for new talent, and closes it out with Dirty Bones’ Bites & Beats Takeover.
Speaking of the ladies, on June 16 bring your cash – Berwick Street Market will be taken over by owners of mainly female labels, picking and choosing the stalls selling vinyl and records, while Soho Radio DJs Xanthe Fuller, Sophie Callis and Cherrie Flava will be providing the soundtrack with an exclusive live broadcast.
Tickets for events and workshops during Soho Music Month are free but due to limited space for some dates, get yourself a ticket via ballot. For full details on each event, and to register for the chance to win a pair of tickets, visit Carnaby.co.uk and ThisisSoho.co.uk
