The Two most popular games of the year
2019 has been another memorable year in the entertainment industry, which has seen a number of hugely successful releases for gaming fans. Previous releases have also continued to remain as popular as ever, as the industry continues to grow year on year. So as we draw ever nearer to the end of 2019, which have been the most popular games of the year?
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare
Sitting at the top of the pile is the hugely popular release from the Call of Duty franchise. They have always been a fan favourite and this was their 16th instalment in the series. The game was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision only a few months ago, but has already broken numerous records. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare earned more than $600 million worldwide in the opening three days of its release, which has now seen it become the top-selling premium game release of the year.
It also sold more units in its opening three days than any other game in the series and became the biggest selling digital opening in Activision’s history. It also broke the record for the highest amount of digital sales on the PlayStation 4, and provided the largest Call of Duty PC launch in history. These all give an indication of just how much of a success this game has been this year.

Fortnite

This has seen fans picking up official clothing at Popgear, as it remains at the forefront of the gaming industry and so well supported. The game itself is now available across three distinct game versions, that started with Fortnite: Save the World. Following this, Fortnite Battle Royal was released.
The key growth of the game came when they released Fortnite Creative in the latter stages of 2018.
